     Henry was born on 15 January 1864 at Haffte, Hannover, Germany.^1,2 He married Anna Margreta Mohlenhoff on 8 September 1888 at Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.¹ Henry died on 28 April 1940 at Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa, at age 76.²
     Henry was the youngest in a family of four. By custom, the eldest son inherited the farm, so he had no future in Germany and opted to migrate to America.³ He immigrated in 1882.⁴ Henry worked at the Jackson County Poor Farm where he met his wife who was also employed there.
