He was employed by Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in November 1976 at Laurel, Maryland, as a statistician. As of August 1978, Paul Hibbard Geissler was also known as Dr Paul Hibbard Geissler. He earned his Ph.D. in Zoology in August 1978 at North Carolina State University Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. His dissertation topic was "Movement of Hunted Segments of the Mourning Dove Population" (under the direction of Don W. Hayne).¹ He resided at Bowie, Maryland, from 1983 to 2009. He resided at Lafayette, Colorado, from 2009 to 2020.
