     Alma Witte was born circa 1866 at Corlin, Pomerania, Germany.1,2 She married Carl Wilhelm August zum Hagen, son of Carl Ludwig Adolph August zum Hagen and Marie Fredericke Auguste Muhlenbrink, on 12 May 1891 at Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.3 Alma Witte married John F Bade on 1 October 1915 at Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington.4 Alma Witte and John F Bade were apparently divorced before 1 January 1920, since they were each living with their respective children's families in the next census enumeration, instead of with each other. Alma Witte died on 10 March 1956.
     Her married name was zum Hagen. Alma Witte was also known as Alma Zumhagen. On 1 June 1895 Alma zum Hagen and Carl Wilhelm August zum Hagen lived at Fair Haven, Stearns County, Minnesota.5 Alma Witte immigrated in 1905.6 Carl and Alma traveled to New York City from Bremen, Germany on 21 February 1908.1 As of 1 October 1915, her married name was Bade.4 On 1 January 1920 Alma Zumhagen lived at 506 State Street, Oconomowoc, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.6
