He was employed by the Southeastern Fish and Game Statistics Project, North Carolina State University Department of Statistics from 1976 to 1984 as an Associate Statistician. He was employed by the Southeastern Wildlife and Fisheries Statistics Project, North Carolina State University Department of Statistics in 1984 as a Senior Statistician and the Assistant Director. About 1990, he became the program Director until retiring about 1995. David retired from the North Carolina State University Department of Statistics at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, in April 1995.¹
