She was hit in the head by a windlass handle on a well at age 2 or 3. C. W. Weant related that she "died young." Emma L Weant was described as disabled (disability: idiot) on 1 June 1880.4

I have heard that he was called "Cherryl". He had a large family. One time when he was turning in some paperwork for employment benefits, the man he gave the papers to came to him and told him he had made a mistake -- he had listed two of his children born in the same year. He responded that, yes, that surely had been a mistake, but the papers were right, it had really happened that way, two of his children were born in the same calendar year, one at the beginning and one at the end.
Shirley Lee Mauldin Sr. was also known as Sherrell Mauldin. On 1 April 1930 Shirley Lee Mauldin Sr. lived at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
