     Markel was born on 16 June 1910 at Jackson County, Iowa. He married Gladys Belle Davison on 2 August 1937 at Caledonia, Minnesota.¹ Markel died on 10 May 1999 at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa, Jackson County, Iowa, at age 88.¹
     Markel Summers also went by the name of "Stub" Summers. He was Episcopalian. He lived at South Fork Township, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 April 1930 with James Greg Summers and Ada Summers.² He farmed a Jackson County "Century Farm" his entire life prior to retirement. One of his hobbies was mushrooming.

He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Maquoketa, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, and was survived by one brother. On 1 April 1940 Markel Summers and Gladys Belle Davison lived at South Fork Township, Jackson County, Iowa.³ Markel retired from farming at Maquoketa, Jackson County, Iowa, in 1991.¹

     Her common name was Sue Davison. She lived at Eastman Township, Crawford County, Wisconsin, on 1 April 1930 with Lloyd Alvin Geitz and Thelma M Geitz.² Eunice Virginia Dague lived at 710 S. Niagara Street, Maquoketa, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 April 1940 with Henry Adolph Weets and Edith Weets.³ As of 26 May 1941, her married name was Davison.¹

     Joan was born on 17 August 1929. She married Lloyd Ray Davison on 18 August 1973 at Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. Joan Hudnell died on 29 December 2016 at age 87. She was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Jackson County, Iowa.
     Joan Hudnell was also known as Doris Joan Hudnell. As of 18 August 1973, her married name was Davison.

     A Davison Family History record indicates Clarence Asa and Arlene Mae divorced and remarried each other.⁴ Clarence Asa Irwin Jr also went by the name of "Cuz" Irwin.

     Arlene was born on 17 May 1925 at Norway, Benton County, Iowa. She married Lynus Nelson Briggs on 31 January 1942 at Schuyler County, Missouri.¹ She married Clarence Asa Irwin Jr on 19 August 1950 at Maquoketa, Jackson County, Iowa.² Arlene Mae Johnson and Clarence Asa Irwin Jr obtained a marriage license on 4 December 1954 at Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri.³ Arlene Mae Johnson died on 17 March 1990 at Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, at age 64.⁴
     She lived at Vining, Tama County, Iowa, on 1 April 1940 with Walter Hessell Johnson and Mary Johnson.⁵ As of 31 January 1942, her married name was Briggs.¹ Arlene Mae Johnson was also known as Arlene Johnson Shearer.³ A Davison Family History record indicates Arlene Mae and Clarence Asa divorced and remarried each other.⁶ As of after 1955, her married name was Irwin.

     Gary was born on 30 May 1946 at Oakland, Alameda County, California.^1,2 He died on 13 June 2004 at age 58.¹
     Gary Lee Shearer was also known as Gary Lee Schearer (this alternate spelling might reflect a German-speaking lineage.) He graduated in 1964 from Andrew High School, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.³ Gary served in the military from 21 June 1965 to 10 June 1968. He was enlisted in the U. S. Navy.¹ Gary Lee Shearer lived at Napa, California.⁴
